Salina EsTitties

Tell us about your new music.

My latest EP homegirl was created as An introduction of who Selena EsTitties is at her core. Representing California through and through with Latin urban beats of Reggaeton, This project was created with the idea of performing it live for pride stages. It makes you want to dance it makes you wanna shake your culo, But if you listen to the lyrics telling a complete story of who Selena is and her aspirations as an artist in Los Angeles, bootz
*available on Spotify and IG

How did you get started in the music industry, and what inspired you to pursue a career in music?

My first single I ever created was during the pandemic I wrote a song called STFU Karen that came out of an experience of dealing with many Karen’s while protesting so for BLM. A few Christmas songs I got to find your light which was for my talent show on RuPaul’s drag race. After watching Kuhl perform in Chicago last year I was completely inspired to want to create a piece of work I could perform live during prides this year, this HOMEGIRL was born

What inspired you to be part OUTLOUD?

I am Los Angeles‘s hometown girl. Usually the LA girls who get on drag race don’t have the best run, but my season included me and our winner Sasha Colby. Were put Los Angeles Queens on the map and just because I got six place doesn’t mean I’m not gonna continue to do flourish. I think it’s only right that I perform in the Outloud stage in my own hometown pride and represent the best I can. show everyone attending that i’m well worth the investment and someone you can be proud of to represent your hometown.

How do you want to make an impact through your art?

My brand and persona, Salina EsTitties automatically puts an idea in someone’s mind of who I am. “Loud, ghetto, BROWN, chubby” usually Stereotypes that have negative connotations attached to them because I am a “chola” Part of me is happy that people would think this way because my entire intention behind my art is to show that Latinas are more than just “hot cheeto girls” I AM more than just a loud drag queen. I’m an artist. Latina’s are artist. I’m a visionary, a dancer, a true talent. I am so much more than what meets the eye, and for someone like me to see that they can be more than what society thinks they are is why i’m as loud as i am. as persistent as i am. and the reason IM NOT GOING ANYWHERE! POC more often than not get the short end of the stick in all areas…same for drag, and music artists i see in the industry…its important i keep going weather my art touches 10k people or just 10.

Have you faced any challenges or stereotypes as an LGBTQ+ artist in the music industry, and how have you overcome them?

I do want to say I’m very proud of my queer musician peers who have been in the game for a while and continue to stay persistent with their craft. It’s very inspiring to watch. I know someone like me could never achieve success in a career with music if we’re not for my Drag persona. with that said there’s so many drag queens, especially from RuPaul‘s drag race, who try their hand at music and it goes completely nowhere. People will roll their eyes when they hear that another drag queen has music coming out. But no one has ever made music like me in the Drag realm before. I think it’s so uniquely me and that’s what makes it so special. that combined with my vision and my artistry and talent, makes for some thing that I think fans of Drag have been waiting for and have yet to see fully realized…esp from a Latin american queen! heyyy! I wanna be the Selena of our generation. leave my mark the way she did.

Can you share a particular moment in your career that you consider a triumph or milestone?

Getting to perform at Weho pride Outloud truly is a big opportunity for me. I’m not taking for granted I’m so excited and it’s gonna be the first time. People can see what I’m fully capable of as an actual artist. I’m also very extremely proud of my music videos Bootz and Papi.

How do you think the music industry can better support and represent LGBTQ+ artists?

By giving us platforms and stages to actually showcase and highlight us. Yes I love Lil Nas X and Sam Smith & Kim Petras. I feel like there has Major strides in representation for us, But those are three people there are so many more amazing talented queer artists that deserve more flowers than they’re getting.

Can you describe your creative process when developing new music or albums?

Totally. Everything I do has a concept and a story. I’m a storyteller at the end of the day. That’s how I approach my work Gurl, a story of a girl from the streets who has big dreams of being somebody in this world. I’m working on a XMAS EP that has its own story and through line as well. My music videos tell the story of each song through the Art of dance and movement on top of the song itself. When I’m creating music, I’m always thinking of the visual and the choreography that would tell the story I want to tell. i always say i’m an actor first. a dancer 2nd and a singer 3rd. So I approach my projects as an actor and a dancer before I even think about what it sounds like.

What has been your favorite project or performance so far, and why?

I truly believe this OUTLOUD Music Festival main stage performance is going to be my most favorite performance so far of My career. The way I envisioned the choreography with my dancers on that big stage. This is going to prove to the world that I’m someone to look out for and to invest in. I truly believe that in the bottom of my heart, I’m gonna show up and show out.

What advice would you give to other aspiring LGBTQ+ musicians looking to make their mark in the industry?

I think in order to be successful in anything you do is to know who you are. Who you are will dictate how you move. And I think more than ever these days authenticity is so important. How many times have we seen a cringe TikTok of someone trying to this or that? exactly. knowing who you are and being able to throw that into your art is my biggest piece of advice

What are your goals for the future, both in terms of your music career and advocacy within the LGBTQ+ community?

I just want to keep creating and building a repertoire that when people look back at any point in my Career, if they’re not familiar with it, they will be gagged at how Hearty and meaningful my projects have been all along from my music videos to my YouTube channel to my EP’s, Even to my frown upon runways on RuPaul‘s drag race, everything had a message. Everything had a story and when I die, I hope that my legacy will touch someone and inspire people even after I’m gone.

What do you want to say to the OUTLOUD and Queer  communities?

THANK YOU FOT SEEING ME, for giving me a stage to bare myself. We get to do better as a community to hold each other up and support each other, because the outside world doesn’t want us coming out the closet STILL to this day. Bills are being past left and right to keep us suppressed so we need to support each other in order to continue to live Outloud.

What other LGBTQ+ artists do you want to give a shout out to?

Tokeyo, Ronald Keaton, Vincent, Lagoona Bloo, Taylor xo, Aura Myari, Bentley, Jordy, Marque
