It was just in me from the start grew up in a musical family and knew artistry creativity was my organic path. Music is the foundation of all that I am and it means the world to me that I get to create.

What inspired you to be part OUTLOUD?

It is an organization centering Queer LGBTQIA+ Artist so I knew I had to be part of this community. Thankfully I can say I have been in this community as an artist and music host for this amazing organization. So shoutout to OUTLOUD for being just that!

How do you want to make an impact through your art?

By being my authentic self through my artistry and energy, that is where my impact will be felt honestly!

Have you faced any challenges or stereotypes as an LGBTQ+ artist in the music industry, and how have you overcome them?

Challenges are part of the industry navigation then add on being a Proud Black Trans Woman it is a ride I tell you. I overcome them by realizing I am the designer of my destiny and it is my artistry that makes opportunities for me to Shine and be a artist for many who will come behind me to look to in their own journey in the music industry.

Can you share a particular moment in your career that you consider a triumph or milestone?

As a independent artist I have been associated with the Recording Academy (Grammys) multiple times due to my artistry and advocacy. I am very proud of that achievement because it tells me I'm on the right path and all I have to do is keep going.

How do you think the music industry can better support and represent LGBTQ+ artists?

I think the industry can really show for LGBTQIA+ artist by really providing nonbiased opportunities not just because they are LGBTQIA+ but because they are also talented and great individuals. For so long we have always been the creatives on the side lines doing for everyone else now it is time for us to be front and center accessing the resources available to make progress in the music for all LGBTQIA+ artist and beyond.

Can you describe your creative process when developing new music or albums?

My process is a natural flow, I usually get a melody or lyric line and then I expand on that idea to a complete song and project. I definitely hear melody and it is a no brainer to then add lyrics to fit the melody so that everyone can groove to it and experience the love.

What has been your favorite project or performance so far, and why?

It is the release of my Debut EP entitled PRESENT! I am so excited everytime someone jams to my music or says I understand the message in the melodies and that just makes me smile!
